Beans Thoran/Green Beans Upperi with Coconut


Green Beans - 1/2 kg
Coconut, grated - 1/4 cup
Mustard seed - 1/2 tsp
Garlic – 6-10 cloves
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Dried red chilli-1-2 splitted
Curry leaves - 1 strand


·         Cut beans into small pieces. Mash coconut garlic thoroughly.
·         Add 1 tbsp. of oil in a pan; add mustard seed, dried red chilli, when start to popping adds cut beans with salt, turmeric powder and enough water.
·         When it almost done, add coconut-garlic mixture and mix well.
·         Cook further for 5 minutes.

Serve hot with rice
