Chemmeen (Shrimp/Prawn) Masala


Ingredients:-


Shrimp(Chemmeen) - 1 lb (deveined and cleaned) or ( frozen uncooked shrimp)


Diced onion - 1 cup


Finely chopped tomato - 1 cup



Green chillies(finely chopped) - 1/2 cup



Ginger - 1 tbsp



Cumin(Jeerakam) powder - 1 tsp



Coriander powder - 2 tbsp



Turmeric powder - 1 tsp



Garam masala - A pinch


Coriander leaves for garnishing


Curry leaves - 1 sprig



Oil









Salt

Directions:-
  • Heat oil in a pan/kadai.
  • Add onion,curry leaves,green chilli and garlic
  • Sauted well till onion become transparent,add chopped tomato.
  • When it become little pulpy add all the powders.
  • Fry well till raw smell is gone and oil separates.
  • Then add shrimp.Cover and cook till done.But only add water needed,shrimp will ooze out water.
  • Garnish with coriander leaf.


Serve hot with rice,chapati.
