Kumbalanga Pachadi/ (Ash Gourd Pachadi)


Kumbalanga/Ash gourd - 1/2 kg

Grated coconut - 1 cup

Curd/Yogurt - 1 cup

Green chilli - 2-3 nos.

Dried red chilli - 2-3 nos

Curry leves - 2 strands

Mustard seed - 1/2 tsp

Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp




· Peel and chop kumbalanga into 1 1/2" thin pieces

· Cook kumbalanaga along with little water,salt and turmeric powder.Dont add more water,kumbalanga is a good source of water.let it tobe cool

· Grind coconut,green chilli ,2-3 curry leaves along with curd and fnally add mustard seed and grind again for 2-3 seconds.

· Pour this paste into cooked kumbalanga.

· Seasoning with mustard seed,curry leaves,dried red chilli.

Enjoy with rice
